Why Use Silkworm Chow

Silkworms are a delicious food for a wide range of reptiles, but just like any other livefood, it is important you keep them well fed to ensure they provide maximum nutrition to your pets. But since silkworms feed exclusively on the leaves of the white mulberry bush (Morus alba), finding a natural food source can be challenging.

This specialised food for silkworms has been created using powdered mulberry leaves and further enriched with vitamins and minerals to boost the nutritional value of your feeder worms, and can help improve the longevity of your silkworms.

How To Use Silkworm Chow

Prepare the Silkworm Chow by mixing one part powder with three parts water. Bring it to the boil in a small pan to create a gel. Allow to cool to room temperature and once the gel is rubbery it is ready to add to your silkworm enclosure.

Because it is highly nutritious, silkworms fed on this food require minimal servings. Feed every 2 to 3 days using approximately 1g of powder per feed per tub. 

The enriched diet of your silkworms will lead to increased digestive waste, therefore regular cleaning is recommended.
